Edinburgh's Festivals

Have you experienced Scotland's capital city during festival time?  It's a wonderful time to visit Edinburgh and get swept up in the festival atmosphere.  This year - the Year of Creative Scotland - is the perfect time to embrace the huge cultural event that is the International and Fringe Festivals, as well as the Jazz and Blues Festival, Art Festival and Book Festival.

Edinburgh International Festival

The Edinburgh International Festival is held from 9th August to 2nd September 2012 and features the best in international music, theatre, opera and dance.  There are a wide variety of events to enjoy, whether you're interested in concerts or talks and workshops.

You can find out more about the events, download the 2012 Festival brochure and view the venue map at www.eif.co.uk.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe

The main difference between the International Festival and the Festival Fringe is that the artists involved in the International Festival are invited by the Festival Director.  Anyone can perform in the Festival Fringe as long as they pay a fee to the Fringe.

The Fringe runs from 3rd to 27th August and categories include cabaret, dance and physical theatre, children's shows, comedy and exhibitions.  Visit www.edfringe.com to find out more about the programme of events.
