The 7th Glasgow Film Festival will run from February 17–27 2011 in venues throughout the city. The Festival is the fastest-growing film event in the UK, attracting audiences in excess of 30,000. In 2010, it welcomed French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet to the city for the opening night gala of Micmacs and hosted the world premiere of Idris Elba thriller Legacy. The 2011 Festival is set to be bigger and better than ever as it showcases the best of home grown talent and international trendsetters. The full programme is announced on 19 January with tickets on sale from 20 January at www.glasgowfilm.org/festival.Alongside Glasgow Film Festival, January sees the launch of Cinema City, an exciting new online space – brought to you by the same folk behind the Film Festival – which celebrates Glasgow’s rich cinema-going heritage, the films which have been made here and the relationship the people of the city have with moving image. Check it out at www.glasgowfilm.org/cinemacity.
