Culloden - From Battle to Exile: 9 May to 10 May

Culloden is the battlefield that connects us with our ancestors!

The National Trust for Scotland invites you to join them at Scotland's exciting new visitor centre at Culloden Visitor Centre in Inverness for a weekend programme of events telling the story of this famous battle, its aftermath, and the journey to a new life overseas.

The Battle of Culloden marked the beginning of a chapter in Scotland’s and especially the Highlands’ history that saw people leave their homeland. Some were sent into exile as a punishment for their involvement in the ’45 Jacobite rising, others left to escape even harsher punishments, and others still left when they found their way of life had changed irrevocably.
